Finish Line in Sight

Now that the end (of HOF) is near, I think it’s time to write the synopsis. This part of the book is always so hard for me. Characters are living and breathing and bossing me around. I’m wanting Edwin to do something uncharacteristic just because Jen wants him to, not because HE wants to. Obviously that won’t do. And I have other characters refusing to up the ante because Edwin is just SO alpha. (Jeff won’t threaten Jen like he needs to because Edwin keeps positioning himself between them because HE KNOWS JEFF IS BAD and HE LOVES JEN and he’d just never let that happen!!) It’s a frantic dance as I try to create a scenario that will set up the series of snapshots I have in my mind that symbolize the end of this book for me. I’ll be fine with whatever happens at this point as long as I have my snapshots – the images that drove me to write the book to begin with. A blazing fire, a dead body, blue lights, and a girl on the verge of realizing just how lucky she is.
