Everything She Does Is Beautiful

So after another loooong weekend spent on the couch, I officially hit the two-thirds marker on my HOF rewrites, that’s page 219 of 313. Woohoo! Less than 100 pages to go! I seriously think it’s all down hill from here. The most heavy changes were in the first half of the book. There are only a few more scenes that I have earmarked for big changes, but the later those changes come in the novel, the less of a domino effect they can have. The big question is: can I do it before the end of January?? I don’t know… I like to think positively and all, but I really need to get some laundry done at some point. That’s the thing about being a working/writing mother. The laundry, the dishes…they never get done. And if people (*eh-hem*) ever decide to go down and throw a load in, it’s usually their own clothes, and none of yours. *sad face*

Anyhow, I have renewed my hopes that I can get this rewrite done by the first week of February!

I have also had a renewed interest in writing to music. For every book I write, I make a playlist of songs that follow the characters and plot. Then whenever I sit down to write, I can turn on the playlist and it helps me get in the right mindset for the story. I took a long unhappy break from that when my iPod died last year. I still haven’t been able to repair it or buy a new one. But today, I said to hell with it, turned on Pandora, and listened to one of my stations that always makes me think of this book, and I was so productive. Awesome. Just awesome how music inspires emotion, and how emotion can write a book!

Here’s You and Me by Lifehouse. Edwin’s song for Jen!
